Ken Read
Founder, Performer,
Conductor, Artistic Director

The Ritchie Trombone Choir began in 1989 as a teaching ensemble for Ken Read’s trombone students. Almost immediately, the group attracted the attention of other trombonists. Adult amateurs, professional and semi-professional trombonists, university students and talented junior high and high school students play with the group. The trombone choir receives coaching and conducting from a variety of professional musicians and performs publicly several times a year.

In 2004 the ensemble incorporated as a non-profit society. The society’s mandate is to encourage the musical development of its members, to support developing musicians and to encourage the growth of community within the arts.

The Ritchie Trombone Choir has a rich history of entertaining Edmontonians. Check out a list of some past performances below!
