Bio:
I started playing trombone in grade 7 at D.S. Mackenzie Junior High. I continued at Harry Ainlay CHS under Larry Schrum and the occasional Ken Read clinic. I played a short time with Littlebirds and Ken’s trombone choir after high school. The followed a few years of semi dormant--mostly church groups. After seeing River City Big Band at Jazz City, I commented to Larry that I’d be interested in getting back into the band thing. In spring of 2004 Herb Henley (via a tip from Larry) called to ask if I’d be interested in joining the C-jam Band. From there to the Tuesday GMCC band led by Larry and (with some encouragement from Diana Lee and Lynn Hewitt) came back to the Ritchie Trombone Choir.
